Installing WhatsApp on Nokia Lumia 510, 520, 535 and 630 can be quite easy. However, there are two ways to install this application on one of the phones mentioned above. The most used and easiest method to install the application is via the Windows App Store.
To do this, you will just need to head to the Windows App Store and tap on the search button (magnifying glass), write WhatsApp and start searching for the application. Once you find the WhatsApp application, you will just need to tap on it to select and start downloading and installing it on your device.
When the installation is complete, you will see the WhatsApp welcome screen and you will need to agree with the terms. After that, you will use your mobile phone number to get verified (keep in mind that WhatsApp uses your mobile phone number as ID) and once you get verified, you will be able to start using the application without any trouble.
The second method of installation is a bit more difficult, because you will have to head to the official WhatsApp website and download the application from there. In case you don’t know what’s the official WhatsApp web application, open the browser you use on your Nokia Lumia device and search for “WhatsApp Website” on Google. Once you find the webpage, head to it and tap on the “Download” button. This will get you to the official Windows App Store, where you will need to log into your account to start the download.
In case you get the error code 80070490, it means that the WhatsApp version is not compatible with your device. Another reason why you might get this error is that you don’t have enough free space on your device. In case this is the problem, we suggest you to uninstall applications that you don’t use in order to free up some space. After that, you can try once again to install the application and see if it works.
There are also other issues found on WhatsApp on Nokia Lumia devices. It seems that after installing the application on a device, there were a few problems that occurred, such as the application not working properly or not starting at all. This was fixed in several cases by turning off and on the device. In case this fails, then you should check the internet connection and see if that’s the problem. Also, make sure that you are using the latest WhatsApp version for your Nokia Lumia (in case you’ve done how we told you above, you should have the latest version). Check your WAP settings and make sure that you have the right carrier settings for your internet connection.
Keep in mind that WhatsApp uses a non-HTTP socket connection, so in case you are turning off the WAP only feature, it may help restoring the connection on the application.
