WhatsApp is a very popular messaging application that runs on mobile devices. However, even if a lot of users have asked for a Windows version of the application, it seems that the developers didn’t have the time to work on it or they don’t plan on releasing one anytime soon. The only thing that they’ve released for Windows is the WhatsApp Web feature.
To use WhatsApp Web is quite easy, as all you need to do is to open your Firefox, Google Chrome or Opera and search for WhatsApp Web website and head to it. Once the webpage loads, you will have to scan the QR code with your mobile phone. To do this, open WhatsApp on your mobile device, go to Menu and select WhatsApp Web and after that, scan the QR code. After scanning the QR code, you will be automatically logged into your WhatsApp account via PC, using one of the three browsers we’ve told you above.
However, while using WhatsApp Web on your PC, you will notice that you are quite limited. This is why today we’re going to tell you how to install WhatsApp on your PC without using BlueStacks.
Installing WhatsApp on Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1
Unfortunately there is no way to install WhatsApp on your PC without using an Android emulator. If before we’ve told you how to install WhatsApp with BlueStacks, today we’re going to tell you how to install it using another Android emulator. BlueStacks can’t be used by most of the users, as this Android emulator takes a lot of RAM and we took into consideration those users with low-end PCs, which will surely appreciate if we’ll give them an alternative to BlueStacks.
The emulator that you will use to install WhatsApp on your Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 will be Youwave. First of all, you will need to download the Youwave emulator from the official website (Google it, the first result will get you to the official Youwave website). After the download is complete, install this software on your computer and start the emulator.
Once the emulator has started, click on the view button that’s located at the top left side. After clicking on it, you will notice that a drop down menu will appear and you will need to select “Online content”. After clicking on the Online Content option, you will see that along with other icons, there will be a WhatsApp icon also. Click on it and start downloading and installing it on your computer running on Windows 7, 8 and 8.1.
When the installation completes, go to the home screen (by clicking on the menu button that’s in the top right side) of the Youwave Android emulator. There, you will find the freshly installed WhatsApp application, so click on it to start it. In order to get verified, you will use a mobile phone number, but since your computer doesn’t have a SMS service, the verification will fail and you will need to select “Call Me” option in order to get a call or a SMS with the verification code. Once you get the verification code on your mobile phone, enter it in the appropriate box to register to WhatsApp on your computer, and start using the application without any problems.
